The Speech and Language Therapy Team, within Learning Disabilities, are always looking for ways to improve their service to enable the communication of people they work with. They were thrilled to receive funding through the charity for an Eye Gaze Communication System. Eye Gaze is an access method for a person to be able to communicate through a communication aid, they use their eyes to select a symbol which will then speak for them. Eye Gaze allows those with physical and learning disabilities to access communication without relying on physical movement. This has enabled the team to provide assessment for a much wider group of people which allows them to give intervention to more people so they to have a voice!
