Staff from the community mental health team at Isebrook hospital grouped together and named themselves “The Runner Beans”. Their first challenge was to complete a 5k inflatable obstacle run. All to raise money for charity!
Wanting to raise money to support the allotment group that supports service users in the community. The Runner Beans have raised over £1,600, which will help keep the group going and help to develop the group even further, helping even more people.
If you would like to show your support to the Runner Beans and the local support group, you can at the Runner Beans fundraising page.
About the Allotment group
The group is a volunteer-led project in Wellingborough that started in 2016. Starting alongside the therapist-led groups run by the occupational therapy service within the community mental health team.
The aim of the group is to give opportunities for those who’ve had treatment to engage in regular outdoor activity to promote better physical and mental health. Also gaining a sense of wellbeing through producing and consuming fresh home grown food.
